User´s info

Just a language fanatic! I don't have many words to pronounce myself as I only speak English fluently. I tend to be fascinated by lesser known languages (perhaps only in respect to my own country) and languages that are facing decline due to globalisation and over use of English.

I'm particularly interested in the Goidelic (Irish, Scottish, Manx) and Brythonic (Welsh, Cornish, Breton) families lately. I've mostly added Irish words but there's a spattering of the others thrown in there too.

Besides my current interest in Gaeilge, I have a personal goal of sorts: adding the name of every language in the respective language itself. If I don't know anything about another tongue at least I'll be happy knowing how to recognise or pronounce the name.

All the above being said.. you would think I have no interest in my own native tongue or culture, absolutely not! English can be fascinating with all its dialects which is why I am also dedicated to adding and recording Australian words and slang. I like to keep it clean as well, because there's not much fun in adding outdated and corny words that Aussies don't use in the 21st century.

One more thing before I wrap up.. don't be surprised if you get an email from me if you've pronounced one of my added words. I just think it's nice to give a bit of a pat on the back to someone who's helped me out and the least I can do is thank them.

Anyways, I hope to bring a bit of flavour to Forvo with my variety of English and hope we can all work together to increase interest in this community and, of course, pronounce every word in the world!

Bíodh lá maith agat! / Have a nice day
-Ant
