We can always tell it's awards season on Forvo when all of a sudden a select bunch of names start getting a lot of traffic.
With the Golden Globes kicking off the annual glam fest this week we've seen a lot of requests hitting names like Damien Chazelle (the director of La La Land, which was awarded best film) or Isabelle Hupert (the best actress winner). Everyone loves a bit of French pronunciation!
Best animated film Zootopia also featured highly as did the night's big winner, the aforementioned La La Land. Is it 'LA' as in Los Angeles or 'La' as in Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti, Do?
And that's not to mention Outlander star Caitriona Balfe. Poor Anna Kendrick made a bit of a hash of pronouncing the Irish star's name when she announced the Golden Globe nominations last month. Tip: Check it out on Forvo first before attempting to pronounce it.
